Chester, New York Vaping and E-Cigarette Attorneys Seek Full Compensation

Experienced lawyers bid to hold manufacturers liable for your injury

E-cigarettes and vape-pens were supposed to be the healthy alternative to traditional cigarettes and cigars. Vaping was supposed to help smokers kick the habit and wean themselves from nicotine addiction. Unfortunately, e-cig companies like JUUL got greedy. They designed and marketed products that actually increased nicotine abuse and caused a wide range of debilitating health issues, even death. If you have used a vaping product and have suffered a serious injury as a result, a personal injury attorney at Meth Law Offices, PC is ready to help. We are a reputable law firm dedicated to pursuing justice for injured clients. We have the experience and resources to take on the large corporations responsible for these widespread injuries, and we’re determined to recover the full compensation you deserve.

What is vaping, and why is it harmful?

All tobacco products are essentially a nicotine delivery system. Cigarette smokers fill their lungs with tobacco smoke that contains nicotine as well as tar, carbon monoxide, and about 7,000 chemicals, many of which are toxic. E-cigarettes are electronic devices that convert liquid nicotine into a mist the user inhales. They are billed as safer, because they eliminate the tar, carbon monoxide and many other toxins. But e-cigs are still dangerous because:

  • They contain nicotine. which is highly addictive and harmful to the heart and lungs. Nicotine has also been shown to be detrimental to adolescent brain development.
  • Nicotine overdose is more possible, because levels of nicotine in vaping products are not consistent and because users have the mistaken belief they are safer than regular cigarettes.
  • Users are tempted to experiment with additives that are very dangerous.

Vaping has given rise to a health condition known as EVALI, for e-cigarette and vaping associated lung injury. Symptoms of EVALI mimic pneumonia or flu and include abdominal pain, chest pain, chills, coughing, diarrhea, fever, nausea, shortness of breath, vomiting and weight loss.

Products have also been shown to contain Vitamin E acetate, which is extremely dangerous when inhaled. Severe EVALI has also resulted in heart disease, seizures, cancer and death.

Finally, e-cigarette users have also sustained serious burn injuries due to battery malfunctions that have caused the device to explode.

Have vaping companies deliberately targeted minors?

Minors cannot legally purchase tobacco products, but cigarette companies have a sordid history of tailoring advertising to youth. The reason they targeted kids was to hook them on smoking early, when they are too immature to weigh the consequences, so the tobacco companies would have customers for life. Critics believe that companies like JUUL have taken a page from the tobacco companies’ playbook by producing sweet, flavored products and slick, colorful designs to entice young people to try their highly addictive product. Studies have confirmed that about 40 percent of young people using e-cigarettes have never used tobacco products.

Determined litigators take legal action for customers harmed by vaping products

If you have used a vaping product and contracted EVALI or you have otherwise been injured, you may be entitled to compensation for your:
